Winter Warmers

The Big Day

I love my job but wedding days are THE BEST! It is a huge compliment to be asked to be involved in a girls most important day of her life, and it is my job to help her look & feel the best version of herself.

Every make up artist has a style, when it comes to mine I love enhancing natural features without letting the bride look like a completely different person (they have to look back at these photos in years to come so they need to look like themselves!) I always recommend a trial, knowing bridesmaids colours, flowers and theme for the day is all a must. Finding out this vital information helps me to envisage the style of the whole day so the make up ties in.

Now that the New Year is here a lot of wedding planning begins after the distraction of Christmas.  Hibernation mode kicks in, so Pinterest, instagram and blogs will be in full force!!

A lot of brides ask ‘what happens on the wedding morning?’ Everywhere is different but I would always recommend having hair and make up in the same house (of course it doesn’t always work out this way) but mainly because it means all the craic is happening in the same room! Great for the photographer to catch snaps of you all and of course for your bridesmaids to calm you down (maybe distract you a little too) It also means hair and make up can work as a team and alternate between all of the bridal party! On average it takes 45mins for make up application per person, so you have to remember all this when it comes to booking the timing of your wedding.

When people tell you the day flys in they are not lieing!!! I arrive set up and blink my part of the day has finished!! Being calm and enjoying it is key, no need to stress, you have to trust the professionals that you have employed. Everyone involved works together as a team and that’s how it all comes together.

I hope this has given you a little insight of how the morning of your wedding works! It’s an amazing day full of love, laughs, family and friends and it really is a joy to be part of that!

The photos throughout the post are a few of my gorgeous brides from the past. Seeing the professional photos just puts the biggest smile on my face!

I hope you enjoyed this blog, if you have any questions or would like to book in for a trial please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

Until the next post,
