Finding the perfect foundation is one big task as I’m sure you all will agree. There are so many factors to think of. ‘Is this good for dry skin?’ ‘Will this cover my redness?’ ‘Is this the right shade for me?’ Its a big decision and there are so many routes you can go down. Our high street foundations have so much to offer for such a small price tag yet the premium brands invite luxury and basically a better list of ingredients. On this blog post I’m going to share with you my top 5 foundations I use on my clients, whether it’s for a bride, formal make up or a mature skin I will always go into my kit to grab one of these. So let’s get started…
Chanel – Vitalumiere Aqua £33. This foundation is a very watery consistency, extremely light on the skin, doesn’t go into any fine lines or wrinkles due to the hayluoronic acid providing moisture. I love using it on the more mature client because of this. It has a light coverage which is buildable and an spf of 15. A beautiful product to work with!
Clinique – Super Balanced £23. A foundation that has been on our shelves for years and it is still a ‘go to’ product of mine. It’s suitable for combination skin, (maybe if you are prone to an oily T-zone). The coverage is moderate but still lovely and lightweight on your skin to make it comfortable to wear all day. It has antioxidants and anti irritants which help calm your skin and help fight free radicals making the skin look younger (this is why a larger price tag makes sense with all these special ingredients added… Thumbs up)
Bourjois – Healthy Mix Serum £10.99. For a high street foundation this stuff is a steal!! It’s gel texture makes it easy to apply, lightweight and refreshing for your skin. It’s rich in vitamins such as goji berries and pomegranate helping with anti aging and radiance . It has a radiant finish and great for combination skin and an older skin type.
Mac – Studio Fix Fluid £22. Studio fix is a well known foundation and it says it in its name ‘fix’ it lasts all day!! Great for combination skin/oily as its oil free, making it a matte finish. With an spf of 15 it adds protection to the skin, without giving you any flashback when getting photographed. (flashback is when your face looks a lot whiter than your body caused by the spf in products) I use this foundation on a lot of clients and myself for a night out or occasion as it lasts all day!! Love love love!
Nars – Sheer Glow £31. This foundation is my wholy Grail! I love it! The liquid formula is aimed for normal to dry skin types, a medium coverage that’s buildable! The main features are how duey, luminous and healthy your skin looks when using it. It has anti oxidants (that we talked about previously) and turmeric extract that improves your skins radiance and tone (this reflects the price tag) I can’t praise it enough!
I hope this can be useful to you all, because it is one sticky predicament. Any questions please leave in the comments. Until the next post, L.C X
